Meet up with Selina!

It has been a good 3 months since I met Selina and just this week alone, I have met her for 2 consecutive days! I really envy her that she is able to have such good career prospects ahead.

Anyway, we met up for lunch at Swensens and had a good 2 hours talk and gossips. Lol. And finally I am able to get rid of the items she reserved from me since eons ago! No photos for the day because I forgot to take haha.

The next day was accompanying her for her Gelish manicure at Shanice's. She was very amazed the Gelish  will not chip nor peel off and can only be removed by special solution! Hahaa.

Totally cannot be bothered to smack on make up!
At Sharice's, with the red hot color which I love!

She did the ladybird look alike nail art, a mixture of white and black dots which I have never seen before. I insisted that white dots look nicer but this woman requested for a mix! Looks nice still! :)

After the manicure, we took a bus down to Northpoint to continue our chatting session at Starbucks!

We chatted so much on personal stuffs, friends, bfs, work, and the very funny events that happened when we took part in the Freshman Orientation Camp 4 years ago. And even dating back to JC times where some unhappy stuffs happened back then. Come to think of it, everything is already in the past and it just seemed like yesterday. Time really flies and we have all grown up, stepping into the working industry. I was even telling Selina that I bet 3 to 5 years down the road, we will sure be attending a lot of wedding dinners by our close friends because that is when we are all of suitable marriageable ages, ready to start a family.

Looking back, we have come thus far. It definitely was not easy to be born in the year of Dragon, much more to climb all the way up to local universities. There was really strong competition everywhere, and we have braved it all, passed all and come to where we are now. We were not born smart, neither were we intelligent. It really requires a lot of hard work, shed a lot of tears to be where we are now. I am very proud of myself and to my bunch of friends who have made it, because it is not easy. Not everyone can do it, but you guys did.

Congratulations to all who made it! :)

AJC 30/05 Gathering!

It has been a really long time since the AJC clique had a gathering together, been like half a year since the annual Christmas celebration at Si Xuan's place? These people were rowdy and loud, and by loud I meant really loud, especially the girls. Lol. Having known them for 6 years and still counting, I really love this bunch of people. Without fail, we will always organise kbox outings, cycling events, chalets, stayovers, shoppings, christmas gatherings and so on. These events brought us close together and it is amazing even though we may not have met for months, there's still so much to talk about. :)

So just last Saturday, they came over to my place for mahjong-poker session. We had a table of 4 for mahjong and the rest of us had poker/saboteur. Hsien Meng "chickened" out the last minute but Wee Jia surprisingly popped by my place in the evening. He's becoming more and more charismatic and handsome! Im sure he will puke at his comment. Lol!

Dinner was at the zhi char stall near my place and even though the table was small, we insisted in squeezing together to get more feel. Hahaaa! After dinner it was back to our games and wine time. Fumin had so much wine and I gave her Barcardi, which she went drunk during the Saboteur game and even went to throw up while the guys were about to leave!

Enough said, photos time! :)

Fumin, me and Jing!
 Fumin in a drunken state.

------------------------------------------------

I had my fortnightly appointment to do my nails, again! I am getting so addicted to it that I cannot leave my fingernails bare because it looks so unsightly without any polish! Though the gelish I did last, but my nails grew out quite fast so I had to redo a new one :)

This time round, I did it at a home-based nail salon in Yishun, near my place. I happened to chance upon this place while I was searching online for nail salons in the North area. The previous one I went was at Bugis but it was too far for me to travel there.

Shanice was a nice and patient lady and the gelish she did for me was really pretty! I chose pink again, but this time round sweet pastel pink instead. Shall share it here.

Love the polka dots nail art she did for me! :) Lighter color in real life.

Gelish Manicure: $40
Soak off for Gelish: $15
Nail Art: From $1/nail
Promotion: $35 for Gelish Manicure inclusive of soak off during your next visit!

Night people!

LFDB 22 ♥

LFDB 22 has just launched! And LaFemmeDaBelle is officially one year old :)

After one month of waiting, my self-manufactured design finally arrived! Simple basic dresses are love because it will never go wrong.

Bringing you my favorites in this collection!

Basic Pocket Dress in Dusty Pink
Basic Pocket Dress in Dusty Blue
Basic Pocket Dress in Navy
Drape-Over Ruched Dress in Biege-Brown
Tank Dress in Grey
High Collar Top in Pink

On a side note, Selina you have loads of stuffs with me! This crazy girl made me reserved for her some apparels and have not collected it since like 2 months ago? I have already packed the stuffs for you so see you this Tues! :)

Boy is out of town at the moment happily enjoying away while I am here desperately trying to find a job. Texted Weijing to ask her about her status and apparently she seems to be in the same situation as me, though she has much better results! I heard from boy that he took half a year to find a good one so my 1 month of searching for a job will not land me anywhere, unless I am one of the lucky few. And by lucky few he meant really very few. Got lectured down by boy when I told him to pull me into his company. :(

Anyway, quite a few of my JC friends will be coming down my place for mahjong-poker cum gathering session! It's been quite long since we all get together and a joker Wee Jia could not make it when I have not seen him for eons!

I am still contemplating if I should continue Part II of

爆料黑玫瑰 之 博客版 (Bloggers' Big Revealations)

because it had received good response and curiosity from quite a few. I reckon Part II will be in depth of the unhappy experiences that I have encountered. Scroll down below or click on the header to read Bloggers' Big Revealations! You may wish to add on to the list of rates or let me know of any encounters you have with these bloggers via Formspring!

Shall see my mood then! :)

爆料黑玫瑰 之 博客版 (Bloggers' Big Revealations)

I know that I might be trashed after I post this blogpost up but well, I believe in freedom of speech. And this blog post is interesting because it reveals all the things happening behind bloggers doing advertising as well as modeling assignments, in terms of monetary amount.

I shall start by the rationale behind this blog post. Reason being I felt unjustified for the amount that these bloggers are asking for regarding advertorials and modeling assignments. It is becoming too much so much so I felt a need to let people do justice to this.

In order to protect the identities of the people that I am going to mention next, I'll be using nicknames for each of these people. But of course, you will find it easy to recognize these nicknames if you are familiar with the blogshop sphere.

Having said that, I am sure you might be curious to know how much does bloggers charge for advertorials/modeling assignments. Below is a little collation from what these bloggers quote for me:

Ju Hua Ying (JY)
Modeling: $55/hr (Min. of 2 hours)
Advertorial: $50/post
Remarks: JY is a very nice lady to work with. I have worked with her once for a modeling assignment and twice for advertorials. She is very patient and is very friendly when you enquire stuffs or require help from her. A lady who takes the effort to engage in a conversation with you. Thumbs up for her good attitude. Rates wise I find it very reasonable.

Rating: 4.5/5

Celery Tina Tiew (CT)
Advertorial: $180/post
Remarks: I have not personally worked with CT before, but I have heard from my manufacturer that the results brought in for advertorial seems good. I decided to enquire and was taken aback when she requested for payment when I have not even let her know in detail the stuffs that I want to advertise about. Honestly speaking at the back of my mind, the first impression that came up was "Another money-minded one." Rates wise is too much to ask for.

Rating: 2/5

Zoe Rambutan (ZR)
Modeling + Advertorial Package: $400 + 3 items (2 hours), $300 (1 hour)
Advertorial Only: $220/post (Up for 24 hours only)
Remarks: ZR is one that I should be more familiar with because I have been working with her for the past 10 months? Okay, I can only say that I have not enjoyed working with her so far. I have also received quite a few formspring questions previously regarding her attitude. I have only 2 words to describe - Bad & Proud.
There has been too many unhappy incidents working with her which I think she is not even aware of her bad attitude. I shall not say much here on account that we have worked before. This is not really a graceful thing to mention here.
If you are interested to know more the bad experiences, you may leave a comment via my formspring.
Rates wise I think it is too too too much overpriced. Not worth $220 for a single advertorial because believe me, you will not be able to sell that much for that single piece of item to cover this cost. Even her modeling plus advertorial package is too overpriced. Imagine $400, you got to sell 30 over pieces to cover this cost. Trust me, there will be not much profits left for yourself. All your profits will be for the model. Is it worth it, as a blogshop owner? That is why if you notice well enough, there are a couple of blogshops out there who are getting fresh faces to do the modeling because it makes more economical sense.

Rating: 1/5

Zone Rambutan (ZR)
Advertorial: $110/post
Remarks: Zone Rambutan is the sister of Zoe Rambutan. I have only worked with her once for an advertorial. Paid $110 to advertise a top and NONE bought. Even the photos she took of the top I want her to advertise was so greyish and grainy. I do not even think her advertorial is worth $20? Am very suspicious with her blog's unique views too.

Rating: 0/5

Peg Chang E (PC)
Advertorial: $200/post (Up for 24 hours)
Remarks: I have not worked with her before and did not have any conversations via email with her before so I am in no position to comment further.

Beatrees Tan (BT)
Advertorial: $200/post (Up for 3 days)
Remarks: I have enquired and conversed with her via email quite a few times and I must say she is a very nice lady, though can be quite slow in replying emails. But she is patient in answering all my enquiries and does not urge me to make payment first. Thumbs up for the good attitude!

Rating: 4/5

E-na Goh (YG)
Advertorial: $120/post
Remarks: I have worked with YG once for an advertorial. Not much sales, so I reckon it is not worth $120/post for an advertorial. Attitude wise was okay, but is very very slow in replying emails.

Rating: 2/5

I believe there are more bloggers out there whom I have not touched on. The above few are those I have worked with or enquired on. I have communicated with a few blogshop owners and most of them told me that they are not earning much or not even earning at all because all the profits would have been gone to these bloggers. Think again, before you support a blogger.

Like the media industry, there are too many things happening behind the scenes. And no one knows unless someone speaks out.

Please bear in mind that the comments stated above are purely my own honest opinions. You can build your own opinions after reading them.

Boy's Birthday!

Just last Saturday it was boy's 28th birthday. I planned all the activities for his day and am glad that he enjoyed it. :)

Getting ready to meet boy! Wore the Crochet-Back Maxi Dress in Navy which I kept.

The first activity of the day is console gaming at St Games @ The Cathay. We had Rock Band Hero and had such a fun time there. I couldn't play the guitar because my fingers are always not fast enough so I had to play the drums instead. Lol. I think I am quite good at it!

The room I had booked for us.
 Boy's an expert in guitars!

Too tired from all the jamming so I had a little rest first.

We had 2 hours of gaming session in total. It cost $7/hr/pax and inclusive of one free drink. But in order to play, you will first have to be a member - $5 for lifetime membership. Quite okay!

After which we went for a movie - Transformers! Boy love this movie so I booked the tickets a few days before.

Rushed back his place at night whereby his parents had a mini celebration for him.

Camera shy. Lol!

And I think this is the most expensive birthday present I have gotten him so far. Glad he likes it! :) Got him a decent watch because he has been wanting one for the longest time.

Adidas black watch! Damn light because it is made of titanium.

Happy 28th Boy!

LFDB Collection 21 Preview!

The photoshoot for this collection was a total mess as it was a last minute rush. Due to clash in timings between Zoe's work schedule and my activity on Friday, I did not manage to get Zoe down for the shoot. In the end it was a solo shoot with my new model - Amaryllis! Looks sweet isn't she?

Pardon the poor studio shots this time round. Even the studio was a last minute rush too :(

Anyway, bringing you my favorites for this collection! :)

Side Pleats Shorts in 4 colors

How can we forget skirts?

And dresses!

This is by far the largest collection I have ever featured. 24 items in total!

LFDB Collection 21 will be launched either on Sunday 9pm/10pm or Monday 11am.

Have fun shopping! :)

Another visit to Nail Indulgence UBeau

Hello! I have just had another visit to Nail Indulgence today. Made an appointment to have my new set of nails done. This time round, I do not need to pay for anything! :)

I think I mentioned before that the Gelish manicure was great. So how can I ever resist that this time round! I chose Gelish again - this time round with glitter nail art. Love this set so much!

I am very grateful that I have kicked the habit of nail biting and have grown my nails long since!

Unable to resist the temptation of pink!

Chanced upon this yesterday and thought of sharing it here..

Boy called me at 1.25am just now and we had a little chat for an hour. Apparently he was too stressed with his work. Ever since he has been in the insurance investments department, he has been leaving office at near midnight for almost every day. I guess I can understand where the stress is from after he mentioned to me about it. Endless work piling up, never-ending. And top management giving near-impossible mission to complete. A normal person will definitely not be able to survive this. I couldn't really offer any sound advice to help him except to assure him that he is doing well and is very fortunate to be doing what he really wants to do.

How many people out there are really enjoying what they are doing?

I myself for example, still have not found a job that makes me say "Yes" to the job offer. And please, no more financial advisor or wealth management or recruit consultant offers. I am getting quite annoyed by these.
