Nails @ Shanice!

Time to have my appointment with Shanice once again! I have always been very conservative when it comes to choosing designs for my nails because I cannot accept too fanciful designs. But this time round I decided to go for a more unique design, one which I have never tried before!

Here's a little preview..

I decided to give the lace a try, and from what I heard from her these laces are brought in all the way from Japan! I chose the white flowery lace on the left because it is the smallest of all three. And since my base is transparent and pastel pink, white suits well!
And yes, gelish again :)

Shanice painted my base using transparent gel before painting the tip with pastel pink. It is not an easy task to put the lace on, especially cutting the lace at a suitable length to fit the nails. Lastly she dabbed on the shiny flakes at the pink pastel tip to add in a different look.

I was initially very afraid that I will not like the end-result because my nail bed is short and the lace flowers seems quite big. But on the contrary, I really love this new design and am glad I tried it out!
Princessy feel isn't it? :)

Color more true to the photo below!

Hot Tomato Cafe & Grill!

Apologies for the lack of updates because I have been swarmed with a lot of activities lately and therefore was too lazy to update my blog! I have quite a couple of backlogs to do because of this lol.

Anyway I just received my first pay a few days ago. Felt so happy because I earned it for myself, with my hard work and sometimes even exchanged it with tears. I am not sure whether people see my hard work or know how I feel but I am very sure I have already done my best. Despite people's nasty words, I have to put up with it and secretly teared a little at my desk while pretending to be alright.
That's how the working industry is, isn't it? Maybe this is where my motivation comes.

Enough of it, some other stuffs now!

Mummy made for me another piece of dress to work. This time not in the usual grey or black, but brown! She got the fabric near her workplace and starting doing me this dress, with the ruffles in front and an elastic waist band!

Color of the photo varies a little because my iphone camera isn't focusing well and hence I used Picasa to  do the editing! Time to get a digi cam!

----------------

I met up with boy on one weekend at Causeway to catch a movie. Cannot remember which movie it was because it was quite some time ago. Lol.

We first had lunch at Hot Tomato Cafe & Grill! It's a newly opened restaurant and we thought we can give it a try since there was quite a crowd in there.

The menu.

We ordered a set lunch each. Topped up a few dollars to include in a drink, soup and garlic bread!

I had the Grilled Fish while boy had his Fish & Chips. I don't usually eat salads but I had mine wiped off the plate this time round because the sauce is really nice. The food is really awesome and most importantly, the serving is just nice for me! :)

 Tv time now! :)

Hey all, so sorry I have not been updating my blog recently!

Was too pre-occupied with work and a lot of other miscellaneous stuffs.

I have a whole lot of backlogs to update here so watch out this space soon! Hopefully by Sunday? :)

And I just replied a few questions on Formspring which were dated back 2 weeks ago. Will answer the rest  soon!

Fiesta Brasilia!

It's the start of another brand new week! Fresh start and I hope it's a good one.

Had plain porridge with preserved vegetables and lean meat on one of the mornings, what most called mei cai kou rou! My all-time favorite. Got two yakults for myself from the pantry. :)

------------

Just last Saturday, I went out for dinner with my brother and Felicia at Fiesta Brasilia because boy was out for his company event for the the whole day. We had the Brazilian BBQ Buffet! Had wanted to go for steamboat instead but brother decided on this at the last minute. And I am glad we tried this!

The main entrance when we first came in!
The salad bar station, where there's lots more food awaiting us!
The dining area.
And if you are thinking of holding a private dinner, they have a private room for you! :)

Enough said, food time!

My first serving!

This brazilian bbq buffet is known for their meat. So if you are a meat lover, you are in for a treat! Every 10 minutes the chefs will bring out a big skewer of different types of meat and go from table to table cutting the meat for you from the skewer, freshly cooked and served hot!

The garlic bread, beef and chicken freshly skewed!

How can I ever get enough with just one serving? Lol!

My second serving!
The baked potatos are real nice.

There you see, this time round hotdogs! :)

Felicia's spastic face and my bro enjoying their food. Lol!

The buffet corner.

Wondering how much this Brazilian BBQ Buffet costs us?
Only $20.80++ per pax! Conveniently located at United Square :)
They do have the hot stone a la carte too so don't miss that out!

Compete on wits & speed in Quest 2011 - Kawaii 5-o! Over $20k worth of prizes including iPads to be won!

It's Sunday!

Weekends really flies! Have not been leading a fulfilling work life recently because I am still stuck at learning the easy stuffs. Did not really have a chance to learn the more challenging areas. :( Made quite a few really careless mistakes at work like missing out on some details before sending emails out to locations. Urgh!

Wore my grey dress to work on one of the weekdays. And again, this was made by my mum! I just need to show her what designs i want and she will make it for me with the fabric she bought. Length is just nice for work and most importantly, custom fit and only for me lol! :)

Have been on a very strict sleeping routine lately. I will sleep by 9.30pm and wake up at 5am. For me, it is a must to catch at least 7 hours of sleep daily else I will feel very lethargic at work. So, a good sleep is really important!

Met with quite a bit of hiccups at work recently. The more I think the more I feel I should defend myself. Talked to boy and my mum about it and they told me this is actually a very small matter compared to what they have encountered. Boy told me I should not just keep quiet about it and instead should defend myself if he/she is just a colleague as we are on equal pars. So the next time I encountered such remarks again, I will make sure I defend myself. Because of this I have been rather unhappy lately at work hence I did not manage to update my blog posts. Sorry all!

And into my 4th week of work, I finally had OT on one of the days! I was actually already preparing to pack up at 4.15pm but at the last minute I received an email that says this - "Yu Ling, please work on this urgent RFQ and I will need this for my review in my inbox first thing in the morning tomorrow. Thanks."
Stayed till 7pm and rushed for the mini-bus outside. One of my colleagues from another department called out to me and asked if I want to take his car since we stayed just one block away. Really thanks to him else I can never reach home in just half an hour! :)

Enough of my grumblings, I have a good news - for myself! Lol!

Boy managed to get approval for his leave and I also had approval for mine to take leave even though I am still under my 3 months probation! Immediate boss wasn't very strict about it and told me since HR has given it to me I can take anytime I want. :) And that means another step nearer to Bangkok!
I did some research and we decided to go for 5D4N instead of the 4D3N since we have the time and it will not be so rush for us too. Boy wants a centralized and 5* hotel so Amari Watergate is the choice. I considered in the money factor so to me Arnoma hotel is the choice. Not too bad too since it is also centralized and a 4* hotel. Therefore it is a choice between these 2 hotels. We took into account the plane tickets and were really shocked that it totaled up to almost $600 for Arnoma hotel and $700 for Amari Watergate! In normal circumstances, a trip to bangkok should not cost more than $400. And we are travelling on weekdays.

But whatever it is, I think since it is not easy for us to arrange for our leaves to be approved together (especially for him) and since it is my birthday week too, money is secondary. It can always be earned back so it is not a big issue. :)

Shall do a last check on the rates again and book by this week! Weeee!

So. damn. happy.

Late Night Out!

Met up with boy for our weekly date. Apparently he has been under too much work stress and been working OT till midnight almost every day, and was complaining about some political stuffs at work. Come to think of it, I should count myself lucky!

We went down to Sentosa and he insisted on walking in from Vivo. It was a long distance and the weather was scorching hot! -.-

Shy boy who insisted on not showing his face.

And I have no idea why he took this photo!

We bought Garrett's popcorn - Crispy Caramel! Boy bought the medium one and we could not even finish it. Too big a packet and it was too sweet. It was nice but after a while it became too sweet for my liking.

They have those 1 gallon tin of popcorn that is selling at $69 promotional price now. Very big tin so it is good for a gathering/celebration!

Like a little boy who's so excited about the popcorn.

Then we took a tram to the most southern part of continental asia!

There was a group of NTU students having their orientation camp there and we were both reminiscing about the times when we had out camps too. Time really flies!

After that it was movie time - Cars! Quite a cute movie :)

Home sweet home after that because we were too tired!
