Next Wednesday marks the day where I had officially stepped into the working industry for a year. Time flies and things happen for the past year. Good, bad, unhappiness, happiness, it all happens.
I still remember when I first graduated and stepped in to join the workforce, I was still filled with uneasiness. I didn't know what to expect and only to hear horror stories from friends who have already been working. I must consider myself lucky to have superiors who are supportive and willing to teach, but I have had my fair share of unhappiness while working too. There's people who admires how I can get into the oil and gas industry, of my working hours, of my free transport everyday, of my pay etc but at the end of the day, there's really nothing to admire about. It doesn't matter if you have everything but you are unhappy. I wouldn't mind trading all these for happiness.
Of course during my one year of work, I have heard many, experienced many and finally realized many things. There are all sorts of people I came across. And then it led me to think what sort of background were they from, what kind of life are they leading that makes them behave this way. It's interesting to know.
I have learnt a lot albeit some things that may happen along the way. The job scope is fine and there's nothing much to complain about at the moment. It's just the people to people relationship and politics that makes the working environment a little harsh.
I have to learn to be strong mentally.

The start of 2012.
2012 has not been a good start for me. I haven't been blogging because there has been just too many things happening for the past few months which I have not shared.
My cousin passed away unexpectedly during new year's eve. He was only 32 years old. Just when most of the people were happily celebrating the coming of 2012, I was in Malaysia for the wake mourning. I looked at him laying down in the coffin and then vivid images of him passed through my mind. I would never had thought that he would passed away just like that, that the last I saw him was during Chinese New Year last year. It came through to me that life is really fragile, and you never know when people close to you will be leaving you.
Then during Chinese New Year Day 1 when I was in JB at my grandma's place, I had an encounter with the supernatural that left me thinking that I could have been really been down on my luck. My parents sort of sensed it but they kept quiet so that I would not be afraid. Ever since that, I started to be very conscious of small little noise/sounds in the night. Paranoid or what, I don't know.
That's not the last. Again during Chinese New Year Day 4, I went back home to realize that my room had been broken into - with my newly bought Nikon camera lost. Apparently, someone had tried to use a L-shaped metal rod to hook up my bag which is by the window side. My camera had a handstrap so it could have been hooked up and stolen away. My bags were being rummaged through and what was left behind was that L-shaped rod which I stupidly threw away because I had thought nothing was lost. Made a police report 2 days later and up till now there's still no news.
Someone in my family wasnt in good health all of a sudden and I am afraid that things could be worse than just what was initially guessed. I can never imagine how I would react if it really happened.
Till then only did I realized how much I loved the people around me. I had thought that all I want was to earn more and more money and climb higher in my work. But things changed, and I see myself going to the extent of being willing to put off whatever I have now and future advancements to be there for whoever I loved.
Life's short.
Other than earning all the money you can have, what is the real happiness that you are looking for?
After all the things that had happened for the past few months, instead of feeling that I am being unlucky or unfortunate, I felt the opposite. I learnt that despite all these, I am still fortunate. I have a family who dotes on me and a boyfriend who listens to me and advise me on stuffs.
Simple things brings big happiness that last forever.
What more can I ask for?

Universal Studios!
Just 2 weeks ago, boy and I took leaves to visit the Universal Studios. I have not been there before (except peeping through from the entrance lol) so I am really excited about it. We went there on a Saturday and the crowd was crazy, so many people! But I am really grateful that we got the express passes, courtesy of boy's friend! :) That leaves us going to express lanes for rides, unlimited times. Awesome right! Express lanes are always empty so it can be shiok to walk through it with loads of people queuing in the non-express lanes.
Popcorn place at the entrance!
We headed straight to the Transformer ride where there was a real long queue. Luckily for us we did not need to queue so it was pretty fast for us. It was only a 5 minutes ride but nothing fantastic. In my opinion it is worth to try it out but not worth it to queue 2 hours for it.
Right after we came out from the Transformer ride.
We went to the highlight of the day - Roller Coaster! I cannot remember what was the exact name of this ride but all I remember there was 2 types of rides for this - The Human and the Cylone. Boy was telling me how exciting this ride was and that the Human ride was actually quite scary. We took the Cylone first and verdict was - Scary for the first time try only, but very giddy after the ride.If you are able to conquer the first time for this, then it should not be a problem to take repeated rides for this.
After the Cylone, we took the Human ride - which boy screamed like mad and was holding on very tightly to the bare railing that secured our legs. I pull his hands up but he immediatedly pushed my hand off to hold on to the railing. Lol! In my opinion it is not as scary, but is fun.
I think we took like 10 rides for this!
The Revenge of the Mummy ride. Quite mild though.
Look at how crazy the crowd was!
Then we headed over to Far Far Away for the Shrek ride. I love the castles and I bet most girls will like the structures here, just like those you read/saw in storybooks! Pretty! :)
Waterworld was next. This is not a ride, but an action show. You can really hear gun shots, see fire etc.
We got too tired so we had lunch at Mel's Drive in. Quite an old school fast food restaurant and the food was not bad too, just a tad too expensive.
Our meals that boy ordered!
I had fish burger set!
Boy's beef burger!
Headed over to have some mild ride after our full lunch - Madagascar ride!
Came out to Hollywood area for some photo-taking. I love how pretty the structures there are!
Lights, Camera, Action next! Where they show you how films are made.
Finding a place for some rest because the weather was so hot!
Even in the evening, the crowd still has not subsided.
Christmas performance going on!
Boy wanted to stay till 9pm to catch the fireworks so we found a good spot just in front of Mel's Drive in!
How pretty! :)
That marks the end of our day so it's back to Home Sweet Home! :)

Date!
How's the week so far? Mine has been great, and company managed to give me what I expected - which came just in time for Christmas and New Year so that is a great cause for celebration! Christmas is just round the corner and I am so excited about it because that would mean celebration, fun and of course a day off from work due to holiday in lieu! :)
Took 2 days leave off from work last week and both boy and I had great fun. We went to Ikea to shop for my cushion for my office chair, town to Christmas shopping, Jurong to have our hair cut/treatment/coloring done, Universal Studios and then to East Coast Park for some cycling!
The post I will be doing on the Universal Studios will be a long one so I shall start with East Coast Park first. It has been ages since I ever cycled such a long distance at ECP and I've never went there during a weekday! So it is really surprising to see that there wasn't any crowd at all - in a way that is good because I never like crowds. Before we drove there, we went to Tampines Giant to have our breakfast and do some groceries shopping as well as get our snacks!
We cycled for a whole 2 hours and was really shag after that. Found this bar restaurant somewhere inside ECP and decided to chill there for a while because boy loves the scenery there.
Full of greens!
The sexy look which obviously failed. Lol!
Pardon the bare face!
Took some walk nearby since there is still a bit of time before we go for our dinner.
Noticed the new hair shade!
Boy also had his hair colored but his is darker because he needs to have a more corporate look!
Color above is more true than below, because it looks too yellowish and bright below due to strong lighting :(
We had a good deal for our colorings because Michelle is running a promotion at the moment. And from what I heard, this promotion will be ending in just 2 weeks time.

A little treat!
Apologies for being away for almost 2 weeks because I am real busy at work! Faced with a lot of problems and I hoped to get it solved amicably :)
It's the Christmas season and I think it is time I give myself a little treat this year! Bought a wallet because my old wallet was spoilt and what I did was to stuff my notes, cards and coins in any compartments I can find in my bag. Lol! Became so messy that I decided to buy one!
Live, Laugh, Love!
Braun Buffel!
Boy arranging my cards for me.
Had this for breakfast on one of the days and I am so in love with porridge now! :)
My desk, which is like super duper messy now lol!
Working is never easy, but working for others was never what I had wanted. There comes politics into play and many other factors that really ruins everything. The only consolation I have is probably my nice colleagues.
Cheers!
