Trip Confirmed for 2014: The Philippines!

So finally after all the discussion and research, we decided on The Philippines in Jan 2014/Feb2014. It may not be the most luxurious trip but I am sure it is all worthwhile and a good experience for a city girl like me. It's gonna be a walk down the memory lane for boy as we are going back to his hometown - Leyte, where most of his childhood memories are. I can see from how much he really wanted to go back to the Philippines because ever since he has come to SG, he has not gone back to visit anyone.
Really appreciate the thoughts that boy has for me initially when I wanted to go to the Maldives. He's always trying to meet my every demands and I can feel it.. I am very grateful for that. But this time round, I wanted him to go where he really wants to go.. and this is it - The Philippines.

Honestly speaking, I am quite excited about it because this is gonna be a rather long vacation.. 8D7N or 7D5N depending on the flight we are gonna choose. Nervous also because I am not sure what to expect and will be seeing his grandparents for the first time!
Hopping over a few places in the Philippines and all these will be planned by boy. I am only in charge of the air tickets which is what I am best at. :D

Nope we will probably not be hopping over to Borocay because that is a touristy place and it will be quite far from where we will be. Will be going to more of the raw places.

Wee, vacation!
Doesn't matter where the place is; it's the partner who's most important :)

Motivation!

I have been diligently hitting the  gym twice a week in office for some routine exercise for the past 3 weeks. I really really want to lose weight so much but all years of procrastination just left me with no motivation at all. Because when I see food, i go wild.

So one fine day I was looking through my instagram feed and came across a wedding gown photo. I have a thing for fashion (even though I may always be wearing just that few dresses because it's quite hard to find my size). I like looking at unique designs and I always imagine I could design my own clothes. So yah I came across a wedding gown photo and immediately it just caught my attention.

So who is the designer that caught my attention and gave me the motivation to work on my body shape?

Galia Lahav.

The gowns are simply stunning. Simple but with a taste of elegance, not like the usual gowns I see.
Really love how the laceback is, and mermaid cut!

And this label below from Reem Acra. Another unique piece.

I am really far from getting myself in such gowns so I am trying my best to at least exercise. Well.. better than not doing any at all! Each exercise session I managed to run 2.4KM which was a huge feat for me because ever since I graduated from JC, I have never ran such long distance before.

I hope I can persevere on, with these pics as my motivation!

Random

It's true that I have overlooked the small little things in life. Things that will bring happiness even without having to spend money.

I didn't know being able to see, look and walk could bring happiness too until you mentioned it. Because I tend to overlook it as I earned more.
You are right. I should learn to cherish every small little thing I have..

Financial Expenditure

Just this month, I started to keep track of my own expenses via an Excel sheet installed in my phone. So I basically get to key in every single expense I have on-the-go. Glad I am still using it now because it really helps me keep track of what I have spent on, and whether I have overspent for the month! Pretty useful for people like me. Now I am starting to feel that the $500 personal expense I set for myself every month seems a little... hard to reach. Shall monitor for another one to two months first.

My facial package has come to an end. And it is time for me to sign up a new package. But I am still considering if I should really sign up for the Radio Frequency (RF) package.
To me, I think going for frequent facials is a must because it really helps to clean up the dirt clogged up under your skin. It may not seem very prominent looking on your face but once you grow older, you will notice fine lines, uneven and dull skin tone, rough surface coming up. At 25 now, I am already starting to notice fine lines near my eyes and it freaks me out. I did not used to care about my facial regime that much but when I started working, I noticed that I started to have a brown spot on one side of my cheek. That is when I realized I should do something about it. Fortunately I met found a really good beautician. It's also because of her I signed up my first ever facial package 2 years ago. I had the normal facial package because I just want to keep my face clean and maintain it. Ally did her best to extract all the dirt trapped under my skin each time I go and though it was really painful each time, the feeling after the facial was shiok. I can see my face brightening up and feeling smoother than before.
So, it is really important for ladies to go for facial frequently!

Now that I am already in my mid twenties, I am thinking of signing up the RF package this time round. It's going to cost more than twice the normal facial price but I heard the results are good.
Actually I am 90% sure that I am going to take up this package anyway, lol!

On a side note, I am really glad that I have my own investments instead of leaving them in my savings account seeing that it had only earn interest of a few cents. My heart jumped whenever I see how much I have contributed and made for my investment, super happy.

Boy and I recently started to have the same thought.. we are thinking of the possibility to immigrate.. I am also up for it but if it is really going to happen, I need to see how to settle my family because they will definitely not want to move with me over there. He's gonna put some serious thoughts into it but it's not going to happen soon.

In my 30s maybe.

U.S Southwest Roadtrip Day 9: Grand Canyon

Woke up at around 9am to get ready for our drive to Grand Canyon from Knights Inn. It was another 1 hour drive away to the Grand Canyon!
We decided to go for the South Rim because boy said the view at the South Rim was much better.

The weather was still so cold. Look at how wrapped up I am lol.

Look at the magnificent rock formation at the Canyon. Heard that many years ago this whole place was under water, then something happen and here's what's left of the rock formation. I don't really know what is the whole story behind it lol.

Pretty interesting isnt it?

I really really love it there at the States. The weather, scenery and people! Everyone's so friendly (:

We were just standing right on the edge of the cliff in the photo below and I remembered I was so scared while posing.

Jump shots again lol.

Spot me busy taking a snapshot of the superb view.

Photowhore session 1!

Photowhore session 2 lol!

We spent almost the entire day at Grand Canyon itself and by evening time, we stop at one of the convenience store to stock up on snacks for the drive back to Las Vegas!

5 hours drive back to Las Vegas!
