U.S Southwest Road-Trip Day 8: Red Rocks & Drive to Grand Canyon

We woke up quite early for Day 8 as the others were preparing to leave for Seattle, while the few of us will still be staying in Las Vegas & travelling to Grand Canyon.

Got ourselves another car for our drive to Grand Canyon and in Las Vegas itself.
Boy will be the only driver this time round.

That's Las Vegas roads in the daytime. Very different from at night.

Private jet area.

We went in search for the famous Las Vegas sign. Took us quite awhile before we found it and we had almost thought the sign was no longer there lol.

Rob and Honey who will be coming to Singapore soon!

Then we made our way to the Red Rocks. Not that the rocks are red, but I am not sure why they named the place red rocks too. But this is a scenic view which we can never ever get to see it anywhere in Singapore.

Lol dont know what I was trying to do here.

We then separate into 2 teams after the Red Rocks. One team drives back to San Francisco for their flight back to Seattle while me, boy and his family drove another car to the Grand Canyon as we have more time to spare.
On the way to Grand Canyon, we passed by Hoover Dam. It would be good to have a short stopover at the place but it was already in the evening and we had to rush to our hotel near Grand Canyon which was another 4 hours drive away and it will be too late and dangerous for boy to drive by then.

Hoover Dam!

Now the route to our motel for stayover near Grand Canyon!
Look at the mountains.

Helicopter rides available.

That's how the roads are like in the United States from one state to another. Along mountains or by the sea. The roads are constructed by cutting the mountains up. It is only during this U.S trip that I get to experience these myself and it was really an eye-opener for me. You have to be there to see it and feel it to know it!

It was almost 10pm by the time we reached Knights Inn which is near Grand Canyon. It was a small yet cosy place for a night's stayover. The weather was still so cold and chilly that I had to run with my luggage from the carpark to the motel even if it's just a few meters away.

Bought these Kate Spade and Coach bags for myself and mum. The 4 items below costs me only SGD$550? Damn cheap.

Boy helping me pack my luggage cuz I was terrible at organising my stuffs well.

That's all for Day 8!
