爆料黑玫瑰 之 博客版 (Bloggers' Big Revealations)

I know that I might be trashed after I post this blogpost up but well, I believe in freedom of speech. And this blog post is interesting because it reveals all the things happening behind bloggers doing advertising as well as modeling assignments, in terms of monetary amount.

I shall start by the rationale behind this blog post. Reason being I felt unjustified for the amount that these bloggers are asking for regarding advertorials and modeling assignments. It is becoming too much so much so I felt a need to let people do justice to this.

In order to protect the identities of the people that I am going to mention next, I'll be using nicknames for each of these people. But of course, you will find it easy to recognize these nicknames if you are familiar with the blogshop sphere.

Having said that, I am sure you might be curious to know how much does bloggers charge for advertorials/modeling assignments. Below is a little collation from what these bloggers quote for me:

Ju Hua Ying (JY)
Modeling: $55/hr (Min. of 2 hours)
Advertorial: $50/post
Remarks: JY is a very nice lady to work with. I have worked with her once for a modeling assignment and twice for advertorials. She is very patient and is very friendly when you enquire stuffs or require help from her. A lady who takes the effort to engage in a conversation with you. Thumbs up for her good attitude. Rates wise I find it very reasonable.

Rating: 4.5/5

Celery Tina Tiew (CT)
Advertorial: $180/post
Remarks: I have not personally worked with CT before, but I have heard from my manufacturer that the results brought in for advertorial seems good. I decided to enquire and was taken aback when she requested for payment when I have not even let her know in detail the stuffs that I want to advertise about. Honestly speaking at the back of my mind, the first impression that came up was "Another money-minded one." Rates wise is too much to ask for.

Zoe Rambutan (ZR)
Modeling + Advertorial Package: $400 + 3 items (2 hours), $300 (1 hour)
Advertorial Only: $220/post (Up for 24 hours only)
Remarks: ZR is one that I should be more familiar with because I have been working with her for the past 10 months? Okay, I can only say that I have not enjoyed working with her so far. I have also received quite a few formspring questions previously regarding her attitude. I have only 2 words to describe - Bad & Proud.
There has been too many unhappy incidents working with her which I think she is not even aware of her bad attitude. I shall not say much here on account that we have worked before. This is not really a graceful thing to mention here.
If you are interested to know more the bad experiences, you may leave a comment via my formspring.
Rates wise I think it is too too too much overpriced. Not worth $220 for a single advertorial because believe me, you will not be able to sell that much for that single piece of item to cover this cost. Even her modeling plus advertorial package is too overpriced. Imagine $400, you got to sell 30 over pieces to cover this cost. Trust me, there will be not much profits left for yourself. All your profits will be for the model. Is it worth it, as a blogshop owner? That is why if you notice well enough, there are a couple of blogshops out there who are getting fresh faces to do the modeling because it makes more economical sense.

Zone Rambutan (ZR)
Advertorial: $110/post
Remarks: Zone Rambutan is the sister of Zoe Rambutan. I have only worked with her once for an advertorial. Paid $110 to advertise a top and NONE bought. Even the photos she took of the top I want her to advertise was so greyish and grainy. I do not even think her advertorial is worth $20? Am very suspicious with her blog's unique views too.

Peg Chang E (PC)
Advertorial: $200/post (Up for 24 hours)
Remarks: I have not worked with her before and did not have any conversations via email with her before so I am in no position to comment further.

Beatrees Tan (BT)
Advertorial: $200/post (Up for 3 days)
Remarks: I have enquired and conversed with her via email quite a few times and I must say she is a very nice lady, though can be quite slow in replying emails. But she is patient in answering all my enquiries and does not urge me to make payment first. Thumbs up for the good attitude!

E-na Goh (YG)
Advertorial: $120/post
Remarks: I have worked with YG once for an advertorial. Not much sales, so I reckon it is not worth $120/post for an advertorial. Attitude wise was okay, but is very very slow in replying emails.

I believe there are more bloggers out there whom I have not touched on. The above few are those I have worked with or enquired on. I have communicated with a few blogshop owners and most of them told me that they are not earning much or not even earning at all because all the profits would have been gone to these bloggers. Think again, before you support a blogger.

Like the media industry, there are too many things happening behind the scenes. And no one knows unless someone speaks out.
