I must admit I am not one who is a make-up expert because I am a minimalist. I do not believe that there is a need to smack on thick make up unless there are really special occasions to attend to. Too much make-up is not good for the skin too. Therefore my normal make-up routine only consist of 2 things - Make-up Base and Blusher.
Girls that are natural looks the best, don't you agree? :)
I have tried quite a few brands of blemish bases because I would like to find one which suits my skin condition the best. I have pretty oily skin so most of the bases are not suitable for me as they become really oily on my face after a while and is unable to last me throughout the day.
Dr Jart Blemish Base! This has got to be my favorite brand after Fumin and Si Xuan introduced me to it. I think I am into my 6th one for this lol! There's only one tone for this so it might suit a fairer skin better. :) The good thing about this blemish base is that it is not oily and does not run off easily!
And not to mention that it covers blemishes really well and gives your skin a smooth finish.
And I use this as my concealer to cover the dark rings under my eyes too! Works perfectly well!
Costs about $35 for this!
Now this is my second favorite brand - Skin Food BB Cream! I was introduced to this by Felicia and when I tried it, it was quite good. There's a few tones to choose from so tanned ladies not to worry!
The only thing is that it does not stay on for as long as Dr Jart's. :)
Costs almost the same as Dr Jart's.
So what comes after the make-up base? Blusher for me!
This is a super old blusher I have here from Red Earth and I still remember I bought it when I was in JC 2 lol! You can see how old it is from the cover.
There's two tones of pink in this and I usually brush through both the tones to get a more even look.
Last in line will be an eyeliner! I don't usually use an eyeliner unless there's some dinner or formal events to attend to so in fact, I have used less than 5 times for this eyeliner ever since I bought it a few months ago! Got this from Majorlica and it does not smudge!
Tap on some loose/eye shadow powder if you are afraid that it will smudge! :)
Tadah, end of my daily make-up routine to work!
Although it is best to stay natural, but having some make-up on during work is a basic courtesy and it makes you look much better (I have learnt it somewhere during an etiquette course).
One thing to remember is, don't overdo it! :)
