This weekend date with boy is more special, because boy took 2 days of leave on Monday and Tuesday, meaning long weekend spent! And he was worrying about going back to work on Wednesday (today) because there will be tons of work awaiting him. And true enough, he stayed till almost midnight today. Poor thing.
Weekend was spent at quite a few places. First we went to the IT Fair at Suntec because boy wanted to get for me a compact camera. We heard so many good reviews on this S95 and decided to go down and take a look. Priced at $670, this works like a mini DSLR. Video and photo quality are really good but the only down side is that it has already been out for 10 months. So we decided to wait for a few more months to see if there are any more new models of the S series coming up :)
Canon S95!
Pretty nothing much to do thereafter so we were just walking about. And then we decided to head down to Bukit Timah for dinner!
Yes and I remembered Si Xuan kept haunting me about being the only one who has not patronized her father's restaurant at Bukit Timah! So boy and I decided to go down to give it a try.
The menu
We ordered 3 dishes as recommended by her mum who was there. :) We had the hotplate tofu, salted fish with bean sprouts and a quarter of the special sauce whole chicken which was the main highlight of the day. The rice served here is chicken rice, my favorite!
Happily eating
The food was great! My favorite is the beansprouts and the hotplate tofu while boy's was the special sauce chicken. He kept on praising how the sauce is really so special and he has never tasted it anywhere else before. We even ordered extra chicken rice lol!
Try Joy Cuisine now if you have not! Prices are very reasonable and we had ours for $30 only!
I am not very sure about the exact address of the Joy Cuisine. But it is located at the very famous Bukit Timah Shophouses where there are a lot of other restaurants selling great food! Just opposite Beauty World Shopping Centre! :)
After dinner, we drove down to NTU to take photos of my last academic life. Not much memories as compared to boy though.
At the Student Recreation Centre
At the school of Mechanical Engineering, where I spent my 4 years!
Lee Wee Nam Library where I always rushed like mad to print notes
North Spine Macdonalds where I always had my lunch and da bao to lecture theatres
School of Art, Media and Design which I have not gone before lol.
Nanyang Business School (NBS) Free Access Lab where boy spent his 3 years there.
South Spine LKC Theatre where I had my lectures during my first year, and I am always seen at the second last row of the theatre.
NTU, goodbye!
The next day was photoshoot, this time round with a new model! Introducing Si Ting! :)
Then during one of the days at night, we went down to Haji Lane for some drinks. Boy refused to touch alcohol because he will be driving, so I had mine. We went to this bespoke bar at the second level. Sorry I can't really remember the name! Anyway, I had an alcoholic drink called Kyoho Grape Martini while boy's had a non-alcoholic drink called Desert Rose. The special thing about this bar is that they do not have any drinks menu with them. So basically the bar tender will ask you about your palette - sweet refreshing, sour refreshing etc. I chose the sweet refreshing and he readily made the drink for me on the spot, and it was great! Mine had a mixture of like 4 shots of different alcohols and it is really quite strong. We ordered the leather jacket fish as a snack too and I love it! This bar is really a nice place to hang out with your friends, and people just basically talk to each other like they know each other. Bill was very expensive though, my drink cost $28 and the snack $13. But nice place I must say! :)
My Kyoho Grape Martini and boy's Desert Rose!

Boy was busy smsing away while I entertained myself by taking photos. He was discussing with his friend over some investment in coal.
Anyway, I suggested taking a graduation photoshoot together to our AJ clique to mark this memorable day together. I believe it is the thought that actually counts because we have come this far together and finally graduate. Majority were very up for the idea but it is very disappointing to get replies which I feel were quite unfeeling. I do understand the plight of not wanting to spend more money on such stuffs because a large amount of money has been spent on graduation trip. I can accept this, and this person was nice enough to say that if it only cost $20 per person then she don't mind. I felt better after hearing this because at least she has the thought. But somehow I feel that the reason of already graduated last year so not interested sounds ridiculous to me. It is not the graduation date that counts, it is the thought and memories. 20 years down the road, these photos will be our only memory. Besides, I dont see why it is so hard to spend a day with your friends just taking photos. It is also equivalent to saying - I already quitted my job last year so not interested in going for a gathering with my ex-colleagues.
I do not believe in forcing someone so I cannot be bothered to reply to the sms. I told Seok Hwee regarding this and she very much agree to what I said.
Disappointing really. To the person: So sorry I have to write down my thoughts here. No personal offence etc but having been my close friend for many years, you should know that I am a straightforward and bad-tempered person and I do not mean anything. Just my personal thoughts.
