The best Christmas ever!

I started the festive season with a dinner gathering cum stay-over at dear's place on Christmas Eve. The food was exceptionally nice! All suited to my liking. Ate like quite a lot because all of us (the guests) stayed up till almost 6am the next day chitchatting, singing karaoke, playing games etc. I still can't believe I can manage to stay up till so late. Exchanging of gifts starts at half past midnight after a few rounds of games and as usual, it was Dirty Santa! I'm not sure why but I am always the last person to choose. Hence, I managed to steal the present which I already had in my mind before the game starts - a Novelle pillow! So happy that I managed to steal it. :)

On Christmas Day itself, it was gathering at Si Xuan's place! The weather was good - because it's windy. The food was great, this time round with more wines. Though the black pepper spaghetti was really hot, but I love it the most. My second pick would be the breaded baked prawn. Kudos to Si Xuan for the great meal she whipped up!

I really enjoyed myself for this year's Christmas - be it at dear's place or at si xuan's place. I felt blessed that I have a bunch of good friends who's there for each other no matter what. Nothing can be more important than this. On the other hand, how can I forget my dear? Your present to me this year was the most expensive present I have received thus far for Christmas, and I am looking forward to it, after 3 years finally! Much love to all who has been part of my life.

After my first paper last Friday, I happily met up with dear for a dinner together at Somerset. He brought me to EwF - Everything with Fries and we each chose our own set meal. I had some cheese omelette with bacon burger while he had his

breaded fish burger. The breaded fish burger he had was damn nice!! Mine doesn't taste as nice as his as the omelette was too salty i felt. But the fries was nice though! Happy dinner together. :)

Last Saturday, dear brought me to his colleague's wedding. It was somewhere near his house and he drove me there. Luckily he drove because it was a very humid day and I would never have tolerated the weather! It was a Malay wedding at a void deck so there was no aircon, but still the wedding atmosphere was there. It was my first time attending a Malay wedding by the way! One thing which I do not really like though.. the music was blasting into my ears. Way too loud! Stayed for almost one hour and off we went to meet my supplier for the goods.

The cakes looked so so so pretty. Didn't get to eat it hahaha

After meeting our suppliers, we headed down to Tampines Ikea for shopping loots. He had to buy quite a few Christmas exchange gifts while I had to get exchange gifts for his family too. We spent like 3 hours there can you imagine? Tired, but enjoyed myself alot. We both called this the perfect date. Perfect!

Anyways, did I mention that I love polaroids? I think it's starting to be the next in thing now among girls. Half a year ago I was very much tempted to get my own polaroid, but the idea had to be stalled for a moment because I was just starting my own business and and there wasn't any extra cash for me to buy one. Then just yesterday, I realised that I can actually buy second-handed ones! Much much cheaper, though one can still cost $80? Went to ebay and found that there's some selling for only $30 and there's even a brand new one for only $40 inclusive of shipping.

My favorite piece for my latest collection. Can't help it but try on this dress. Mad love. And most importantly, the sizing fits me just nice! This was the exact email I sent out in order to spite M. Every single remark was pointed directly at her, which I hope she knows. All the statements that she made towards me during our meeting yesterday was indirectly shooting at my quality of work. The attitude that she gave me was totally different from what she gave to the other 2 members in our group.

I kept quiet listening to her every sentence and remarks and trying to explain the reason why I input certain values but to no avail as all she said was "So everything is wrong. You have to re-do it.", when all I need to change was a few values which I efficiently did in 15 minutes. Given my temper, I could have banged the table and hurl vulgarities at her. But at the back of my head, I remembered dear's constant reminder that I have to keep cool and not show anger/emotions as that would have meant victory for the other party.

Hence, I went back to check through and analyse all my datas again and after I have done the final editing, I sent them this email.

Hi all,

Please refer to the attached file for the latest version of the report. I have updated all tables and figures, checked through for standardisation of terms used and edit a little of the cost analysis.

It will be good if everyone read through the whole report again to check through for standardisation of terms and if the need arises, do edit from this file if you spot any irregularities in terms. Please refrain from just acknowledging that there are irregularities but just leave it there and then inform me to do it. I believe it is everyone's responsibilities to check through and make this report a better one.

Another issue to clarify - I have re-read and analysed my parts on cost analysis and I do not see why "everything is wrong" and I have to re-do it. All the information I have written and included in the analysis makes logical sense to me so perhaps if anyone has any queries on my part, I would prefer that you asked me first before making a judgement that I have to re-do it. I am more than willing to explain in detail or even repeat what the lecturer has taught if this was not being paid attention to.

Also, there are some parts of the cost analysis that I did not include inside was because the Professor did mention that as there is a lack of time and the lecture notes have not been taught finish, hence it is not necessary to include in. I hope attention was being paid to what the Professor has said.

Project costs are based on estimation - also mentioned by Professor. This was not done in a haste but only after much calculations and research.

Marilyn did mention that there were no parts costs - I believe this is explicitly stated in Chapter 3 of the report. Please look through all diagrams and figures.

I believe this project has by far tested us on our knowledge, skills and patience. Exam is less than 10 days away and everyone is trying our best to finalise our report now and preparing for exams at the same time, which is the main reason why we gave each other deadlines so that we can have ample time to prepare for exams. Therefore it is important to realize that in a group project, everyone has to fulfill his/her responsibilities so that we are do not face this predicament as it is unjust to the other group members who had diligently tried to rush out the project so that they have ample time to study.

A Friend Lost

Today's feelings was a heavy one.

It was peer-review assessment for our MP4011 Design Project. Unlike the previous peer-review assessments which I have done before, this one was a more special case. Each group member was being called up into a room where the Professor will ask you to grade your team-mates according to the respective criterias.

Chloe went in first and told the Professor that she intends to give all F grades for all the criterias for this team-mate - M. The Professor then called up M and talked to her, and advised her to talk to us. M left the Professor's room feeling weird so she came and asked us what happened. I then took the lead to tell her our heartfelt feelings. Instead of understanding, she started to blabber about how we shouldn't do this to her and we should just tell her face to face first, and that we did not give her chance to do her work and so we condem her etc. Desrie and I spent half an hour in our design lab explaining to her but M just cant get it into her head and feels that she is not wrong. M then started to cry and her voice becomes louder, even though there are other class mates in the lab as well. I managed to speak to her still in a very calm manner but I guess I gave a very guai lan face. Desrie couldn't control her emotions well so at one point of time she was shouting too. The atmosphere was really awkward and bad and I hate being in this kind of situation and would avoid as much as possible. But still, when it comes to work, it has to be put aside with personal feelings and friendships. This I feel that M has not handled in a proper manner. If I am not wrong, she must be feeling that I had betrayed her and there will be no more friendship between us, although I would still very much want to continue our friendship. The story behind this incident is too long and hence I shall not further elaborate here.

Ask me if I regret what I had done, I must say - No. I believe that through this, M will be able to learn a lesson and if she still treats me as a friend, she must understand that what I am doing is not to harm her, but to help her learn.

Anyway through what happened today, I realised that actually Desrie is a very nice lady. I think I have misunderstood her all these while.. It takes me 3.5 years to finally realise that she can be a really good friend.

Grumbles of a Final Year Student

Please close this window if you do not want to hear my grumbles. Because what I am going to blog in this space here are all my grumbles.

I finally understand the reason for the increasing number of undergraduate suicides. Now that I am in the same situation as a final year student, I totally understand how it feels. I was having a heart to heart talk with Desrie (for the first time in my entire undergraduate life) and we both share the same thinking. We have come to a point that when we stare at the laptop screen in front of us, it just made us want to cry out. Especially when exam is just less than 2 weeks away and there are still tons of project and sch work lining up and we have not even started studying for our exams and a project mate who keeps delaying her work and we are facing a dilemma whether to report this matter to our Prof - which in the end we did because we feel that it is unfair that she take the same credit as all of us who really put in a lot of effort for the project. I am glad that I am able to put personal feelings aside when it comes to this. I am not sure if things will turn out awkward between us in future but I hope that she understands and take this as a lesson.

Business too facing some problems with manufacturer. Have to find another manufacturer right after my exams because the current one has too much work to handle which means she is short-handed and has since stopped manufacturing self-designs until Chinese New Year. :(

But luckily, my collections for December are already settled.

I desperately need a short break after my exams!!! I just need a short-getaway.. Even to JB for a few days also can. But easier said than done. :(

Stayover at My Place!

Fumin went to my place for a stayover on the eve of hari raya after her day of work. We went to shop and save to buy a bottle of red wine. My aim for that day is to make her drunk!

We had dinner at my place, then proceed to help me

out with the big batch of backorders that I just received from my manufacturer. We took like almost 3 hours to pack the backorders into plastic bags, pack them into envelopes and arrange them according to normal and registered mail. Two of us took 3 hours, can you imagine that? It was so shag for us. But really much thanks to fumin. Without her help, I would have to

spend like 5 to 6 hours doing the entire thing. :)

Meanwhile she took some of the clothes and tried it on.

Fell in love with this new batch of backorder for Ruched Bandage Dress. It is more stretchable and can fit meeeee! Oh my god. Even fumin says it look nice!! Gonna get one for myself. =P

So after we finished packing everything, it was already 1.35pm. Feeling hungry, I prepared my microwave salted popcorn and she had her cup noodles and we sat down and watch "gao xiao xing dong". LOL.

Then I prepared bacardi (40% alcohol content) for

min, and she downed the whole cup down in like only 4 to 5 gulps. After which, her face went red, then the whole body. And she started to feel dizzy and started talking some nonsense. But still, she is conscious.

I went to prepare for her Malibu next. She downed 3/4 of the cup and finally told me that she is unable to drink anymore because she feels very dizzy already. She couldnt even walk in a straight line so imagine that!! Hence i threw away the rest. When I came back to my room... guess what. She was already lying face down and when I tried to ask her to go and wash her hands, all she did was "heeee heeee heeee". Sounds scary hahahaa. She was lying face down, with her specs and it seems that she doesnt unde

rstand what I am trying to say. Then 2 minutes later, she was already snoring... Called out her name a few times but there was no response...... UNCONSCIOUS.

Then finally... UNCONSCIOUS!!

Off to sleep I went.

Next morning, she had a bad hangover. And told me she's not going to drink in future.

HAHHAAA.

Mission Successful!

On a side note, I managed to get dear's little sister to help me with the packing and mailing of parcels for my next collection.. as it will be exams for me soon and I am unable to afford the time. Will be offering her a small token which I personally feel is too little, but I will increase it for her :)

One week 7 days - Weekdays: 2 hours (dinner + passing me of stuffs) Weekends: 2 minutes.

Looking forward to weekends every week, yet...

I have to tell myself it's okay.

I just finished talking on the phone with my manufacturer. We had a whole 1 hour discussion on my manufactured pieces. I feel that I can communicate and work with her really well because she seems like a sister to me. Really nice feeling. And she feels like a partner working with me, because I will consult her on whether the designs I want are nice, can sell etc, and she will give me very sound and good advices. If she doesn't like the designs, she will say it out straight away, and I always take her opinions very seriously. A very young lady who's so successful! I wish I can be like her, and that's my next aim! :)

I finally understand why people always say you cannot work alone in a business, and must have a partner. Really I feel the stress. It doesn't help when I have school projects and exams coming. And the most damn project I hate - Fyp. Ntu doesnt give any help, and to make it worse, the organization which offered me this project did little to help too. And I seriously think that the organization must send their employees for some "courtesy emailing" course. Basic courtesy such as Dear (name) or Hi (name) or even just the (name) was left out in the email. Oh so now, that's how an employee at the management level should behave huh?

I have a very bad temper. Really bad. Everyone who knows me knows that. I guess if I did not receive a good education, you could have seen me involved in some murders. Because sometimes, my temper is that bad until I feel like killing people.

Quite a few customers emailed me regarding the backorder after it closes, but I had to reject them although I feel sooooo reluctant to! Thinking of whether I should just open another batch of backorders, but most probably not at the moment now.

Had already booked my model, studio and photographer for the next studio shoot. Booked and paid for my next 2 advertisements for my next 2 launches at Zoe's site. Expenses!!

Got myself a new spectacles for just $99 (inclusive of lenses and frame!). Damn cheap! Somemore it's at The Cathay! Real good deal, although I still love my contact lenses that can make my eyes bigger. Hahaa.

Met up with Fumin on the eve of Deevapali for a dinner at Xian De Lai. My craving for months has finally been satisfied! Xian De Lai still as good as ever!
