LFDB Collection 21 Preview!

The photoshoot for this collection was a total mess as it was a last minute rush. Due to clash in timings between Zoe's work schedule and my activity on Friday, I did not manage to get Zoe down for the shoot. In the end it was a solo shoot with my new model - Amaryllis! Looks sweet isn't she?

Pardon the poor studio shots this time round. Even the studio was a last minute rush too :(

Anyway, bringing you my favorites for this collection! :)

Side Pleats Shorts in 4 colors

How can we forget skirts?

And dresses!

This is by far the largest collection I have ever featured. 24 items in total!

LFDB Collection 21 will be launched either on Sunday 9pm/10pm or Monday 11am.

Have fun shopping! :)

Another visit to Nail Indulgence UBeau

Hello! I have just had another visit to Nail Indulgence today. Made an appointment to have my new set of nails done. This time round, I do not need to pay for anything! :)

I think I mentioned before that the Gelish manicure was great. So how can I ever resist that this time round! I chose Gelish again - this time round with glitter nail art. Love this set so much!

I am very grateful that I have kicked the habit of nail biting and have grown my nails long since!

Unable to resist the temptation of pink!

Chanced upon this yesterday and thought of sharing it here..

Boy called me at 1.25am just now and we had a little chat for an hour. Apparently he was too stressed with his work. Ever since he has been in the insurance investments department, he has been leaving office at near midnight for almost every day. I guess I can understand where the stress is from after he mentioned to me about it. Endless work piling up, never-ending. And top management giving near-impossible mission to complete. A normal person will definitely not be able to survive this. I couldn't really offer any sound advice to help him except to assure him that he is doing well and is very fortunate to be doing what he really wants to do.

How many people out there are really enjoying what they are doing?

I myself for example, still have not found a job that makes me say "Yes" to the job offer. And please, no more financial advisor or wealth management or recruit consultant offers. I am getting quite annoyed by these.

The Maya Calendar

I watched a documentary at boy's place a few week's back and thought I can share this. It is about the Maya Calendar.

The Maya's is an ancient civilization that that lived in the Mesoamerica's since 2600 BC. The Maya's had an extremely complicated method of keeping track of time, based on 3 separate calendars. The most important and encompassing of these calendars holds the "Long Count". And on the December 21st 2012, the Long Count expires. It will be point zero. Time will be up for the Universe. It will be literally the end of days.

There's a couple of very interesting but disturbing facts about the Maya Calendar's end. Most intriguing, 21st December 2012 is not a day like any other. Up in the sky, an extraordinary and incredibly rare event will take place. The Sun will move to a unique spot in the sky and hold still for a while. The Sun will sit precisely on the heavenly crossroads between the Milky Way and the galatic equinox, forming a perfect alignment with the centre of the galaxy.

The Maya's know a lot about stars. For instance, they calculated the exact duration of a year to a thousandth of a decimal point, much more precise than any Greek or enlightened philosopher ever did. Also, they were able to predict every solar and lunar elipse until this day. More disturbing, the Maya's were awfully good at Astrology too. Mysteriously, they predicted in what year their civilization would be overrun by foreigners, coming from over the seas. Legend has it that they even predicted the world wars. And now the Maya tells us that the world would end in 2012.

But the Maya's didnt really believe in endings. Their conception of time was circular, with every end being the beginning of something new. So 2012 shouldn't be an exception.

Well, what is your take on this? :)

Green Lantern!

Just last Saturday, boy and I met up to watch Green Latern in town. Quite a nice show actually, though the latern looks a little stupid to me. Lol.

We first had lunch at Ruyi just outside Cineleisure. Serves Chinese food, both of us had the Ruyi Fried Rice. Surprisingly, the portion was huge and it was nice!

We even had deserts after this. Boy's FAVORITE - some mango stuffs again.

Then we headed over to Cineleisure for our movie and went down to Raffles City where boy had a surprise for me. It was a 60 minutes full body massage at Spa D'or! It was shiok-ness. And this is the first time during massage that I have to tell the lady to use lesser pressure, because the pressure was too much for me to bear! I could feel my muscles tensing up. I especially love the hot stones used. :)

Felt really good after the whole massage. We had dinner and then deserts again. Supposed to be my treat but in the end it turned out to be boy's again =P

We went to my favorite deserts place - Max Brenner! Chocolate Fondue! I wanted to try something new so this time round we had this Frappachino instead of the usual Suckao. Fondue there is of couse a must!

Max Brenner is located at Esplanade! :)
Coy look
 Chocolate fondue!

We had the Frappachino for $13.90 and Chocolate Fondue for $20. I still love it although the portion is getting really small nowadays. :(

Some stupid thing boy made me do because I secretly peeped into some files in his laptop which was supposed to be confidential. Lol!

Anyway I kept listening to this song over and over again. Love it!

P/S: Fumin, I hope you understand how I feel. I think it is best we give each other some time to cool down.

Another weekend date!

This weekend date with boy is more special, because boy took 2 days of leave on Monday and Tuesday, meaning long weekend spent! And he was worrying about going back to work on Wednesday (today) because there will be tons of work awaiting him. And true enough, he stayed till almost midnight today. Poor thing.

Weekend was spent at quite a few places. First we went to the IT Fair at Suntec because boy wanted to get for me a compact camera. We heard so many good reviews on this S95 and decided to go down and take a look. Priced at $670, this works like a mini DSLR. Video and photo quality are really good but the only down side is that it has already been out for 10 months. So we decided to wait for a few more months to see if there are any more new models of the S series coming up :)

Canon S95!
Compact cameras - Digital camera (PowerShot) - PowerShot S95 - Canon Singapore - Personal

Pretty nothing much to do thereafter so we were just walking about. And then we decided to head down to Bukit Timah for dinner!

Yes and I remembered Si Xuan kept haunting me about being the only one who has not patronized her father's restaurant at Bukit Timah! So boy and I decided to go down to give it a try.

When the clock struck 12.

Yesterday midnight was a crazy one for me. I was so stressful that my heart kept thumping even hours before 12 midnight. In fact, I was already feeling like this ever since the 19th of May - when my last paper ends. There is this MP4005 Fluid Dynamics paper which caused me hell. It caused me one grade lower for my degree and then this semester, it was a killer paper. I believe I have no reason to pass this paper because although my paper was 80% done, but none of the answers were right. Being drove to desperation during the paper, I even wrote ridiculous stuffs like pV = nRT and V = velocity.  I was so affected by it that I broke down quite a few times.

But anyway, I have already prepared to face up to whatever the results will be. I have even made plans on my next course of action should I really fail this paper and resulting in me being unable to graduate. My mum was also very anxious and she stayed up with me the whole night just so to see my results. So at the strike of 12 yesterday midnight, I mustered up all the courage I have and clicked on my results. Even though I did not do exceptionally well for the other subjects (which I feel I should, and I will again send in appeal again), but I managed to pass that killer module! And I am able to atttend the convocation and graduate! Mad happy and I can see that my mum is also happy for me too. And another surprise was that my FYP actually got an A-! I thought this FYP was screwed up but I did well for it. Prof Lau, thanks!

So so happy that nothing can describe how I feel now. My mum even asked me to book studio for photography after I graduate. Yea! :)

The only regret now is, I am just 0.04 points away to one grade up for my degree. Will try my best to fight for it. But even if it stays this way, it doesn't matter anymore because to me what is most important is that I am able to get out of NTU. FINALLY. I have been waiting for this day since 4 years ago!

Birthday Dinner @ Crystal Jade

Today's dinner was at Crystal Jade to celebrate Seok's birthday. A simple affair, as well as our once in a while catch-up with each other. :)

I made my way down earlier because I have to be at the PO to post out parcels and after which, I headed down to Bugis, Liang Seah street to have my nails done at Nail Indulgence De Beau where I had my appointment made.

It is my first time there and I am very surprised by how nice the manicurists there are. Very polite and kept smiling at me. It did not take me long to find my way there because I know that area pretty well.

Simple outfit for a simple day! It is time I get myself more new clothes. Lol.
My manicurist doing the filing and buffing
 A very comfortable place!

I did Gelish Classic this time round, instead of the usual OPI Classic Manicure. After having heard so many raves about this new invention, I decided to give it a try. And I think this is going to be my next addiction! Let me tell you why.

The normal OPI polish is smooth and will normally chip off after 1 to 2 weeks, similar to the normal nail polish we always have. The chipping off of the nail polish can make our nails look really unsightly at times. Gelish solves this problem. It is called gelish because it is actually a gel-like nail polish. It only cures and harden under UV light, so no matter how hard you blow it it will not dry on its own. It takes only around 5 to 10 minutes to harden under UV light. The good thing about gelish is that it does not chip off at all, and can last up to 1 month, until your nails grow out. It is also smoother to touch and you can see its shine as compared to OPI nail polish. However, gelish cannot be removed by nail polish remover and can only be soaked off.

I am very excited to give this new invention a try and am very satisfied with what I have! Chose my favorite pink this time round, again!

Gelish!

Nail Indulgence De Beau (UBeau)
Gelish Classic Manicure: $45
For 1st time trial: $28
No.1 Liang Seah Street
#02-14
Tel: 63331687

It is actually more expensive than the normal OPI Classic manicure because it can last much longer and does not chip off at all. I know that many nail salons outside are charging Gelish $55 to $65 so Nail Indulgence is definitely a place worth to get your gelish done!
Try it now if you have not! :)

After my manicure, walked over to Bugis Junction to meet the guys for dinner at Crystal Jade! It's been eons since I met up with them.

Happily eating

Fumin, Sixuan and Weejia did not turn up for this gathering and I kind of miss them! I suddenly miss crapping with them. Have the sudden urge to call all of them up and just sit down and crap!

Crystal Jade Korean BBQ @ Nex!

Just last Saturday, I had Korean BBQ Buffet with my brother and Felicia at Crystal Jade @ Nex Mall!

Sorry no photos of the juicy delicious pork belly because I only remembered to take photos towards the end of the meal. Lol!

The end of the meal
 Cam-whoring
Felicia and my brother who can drive me crazy at times!

After dinner we caught a late night movie X-men: First Class and it was awesome! I wish I had super powers too, not asking for too much - I am just hoping I have healing powers :)

Someone asked me a question on Formspring - Where is the next country you would like to visit next? I guess my answer will be different from most young adults whose initial thoughts would be Korea, Taiwan and Japan. Perhaps having heard so many things about US from boy, that will be my next destination if I ever have the chance :)

Boo. I hate finding jobs. Am still lazing around and not in full force applying for jobs. And results will be out this Wednesday midnight! I hope I manage to graduate.. really. That is my biggest worry right now.

Having nothing much to do one fine day, I decided to do some calculations. I realized that I need at least $55k to do something big. This is going to be hard, but if I am not wrong this has not been done by any one in the industry before. I am not sure if it will work out but I guess only by investing in this $55k, everything can be within my control and I believe things will work out eventually. I need more time for plannings regarding this.

Phuket Day 4 ♥

All too soon, we have reached Day 4 at Phuket. This will also be our last day there. Since our flight is at 2200pm Phuket time, we decided to extend our stay at the hotel stay till 6pm that day. Having nothing much to do, we decided to just laze around our hotel area, have some good rest and a little bit of swimming!

I loved the Thai food we had during our first day at Phuket and so we decided to go back to Nong Nan Thai Restaurant again for our dinner. This time round we ordered the mussels! 100 Baht (SGD4) for such a big bowl, and it is delicious! :)

Our last photo of the day...
A memo which we bought :)

I really enjoyed myself during this trip, especially with boy, who took really good care of me. I guess if without him and given my straightforward character, I would have gotten into big trouble there. I really appreciate boy's effort in trying to give me whatever I need to make sure that I am comfortable. In fact, the expenses for this whole trip was fully sponsored by him. Because he was too busy with his work, he left the plannings for this trip to me, which I gladly did. Amidst his busy schedule, he took out leave to accompany me for my graduation trip and right after he's back to work after the trip, he had tons of work to clear and had to stay up in the office till near midnight before leaving for home. I am apologetic that my temper is really very bad, but I would like to let you know that I am very appreciative of what you have done so far. Thank you love!

Phuket Day 3 ♥

Phuket Day 3 was spent at Phang Nga Bay, north of Phuket island. As with the previous Phi Phi trip, boy and I woke up early for our breakkie and then off we went to take a boat to Phang Nga Bay. Boy and I were really surprised when this there are only 10 people onboard for this trip. It felt like a private affair really. We love it so much because I hate crowds.

Here's our tour guide explaining to us the places we will be visiting!

Nice guy!

See the french couple by the left hand side? I'll fill you guys in on more details about something funny this french guy has done. Lol.

Boy!
Enjoying the sea breeze during the 1 hour journey! :)
